The Spoils of Whore

The latest COVID-death figures reflect that 3,572 people with no identified pre-existing condition have succumbed to the bug.

A further breakdown reveals that 87 of them were under 40.

In 2019, 1,752 perished in road traffic accidents, which aside from the bereaved families and the emergency services in attendance impacted nobody.

We never shut down even a fraction of the economy on account of those poor souls.

Our recovery from our now-scuttled island will last a generation, and yesterday MPs voted to extend the Coronavirus Act for a further six months.

Hey, nobody ever believed that initial six-month opening gambit, did they?

And yes, Labour backed it as well as supporting the Government with their takeover-cum-coup of Liverpool Council. Not only are we saddled with a fixed-term parliament of crooks, but we are also looking increasingly likely with zero viable opposition to have a follow-on from 2024.

We have slid into a one-party state, and that one party is filling its jackboots.

The real tragedy – aside from the surrender of democracy, as if that were not abysmal enough – is that this was an obvious debacle from day one.

And that is without any awareness of the hundreds of £billions that were ultimately spaffed up the wall on doled-out mega-contracts for the boys.

Had the Government pursued a policy of shielding and spent a fraction of that dough on top-notch service support for the most vulnerable, we would now be on the crest of an economic white wave instead of staring down the double-barrelled surnames of ghastly, whoring profiteers.

Of course, policies are pursued for cogent reasons, and these villains provide no exception to the rule. The whole Johnson circus thrives on a modus operandi that ushers in power and profit under the cloak of clownery.

Only once the dust has settled will we find out exactly who has taken the spoils.

By then, it will all be over bar the shitting.
